Community Impact

Over $685,000 Put to Work in Dale

When you buy a ride wristband, grab a pork chop sandwich, or participate in a festival contest, you aren’t just making memories; you are directly investing in the future of Dale and our surrounding communities.

Dale Fall Fest is a true labor of love, operated to ensure that the proceeds from our biggest small-town weekend go right back into the community assets we all share. As of last fall, the festival has proudly reinvested a grand total of $685,883.39 into local parks, schools, emergency services, and community organizations.

Town of Dale

Decades of Giving Back

Every corner of Dale has been touched by festival funding. Across our history since 1969, some of our major long-term investments include:

  • Local Parks & Recreation: Over $121,000 dedicated to the construction and maintenance of our City Park shelter house, kitchen, storage, and equipment, alongside thousands more for playground equipment, resurfaced basketball courts, new trees, and park benches.

  • Dale Community Center: More than $68,000 in direct donations, plus dedicated funds to resurface tennis courts, install ball field lights, and update athletic equipment.

  • Education & Youth: Upwards of $35,000 in scholarships for Heritage Hills High School students, alongside sustained funding for school bands, athletic programs, FFA, Cheerleaders, and local youth organizations.

  • Public Safety & Infrastructure: Funding for Dale Police Department vehicles and equipment, Carter Fire District emergency vehicles, town EMS building support, and town beautification projects like community landscaping, new trash containers, and holiday decorations.

Putting Money to Work: 2025 Reinvestments

Our impact is continuous. In 2025 alone, the festival distributed $23,010.22 to immediate local needs, including:

  • Supporting the Town of Dale ($10,500.00) and City Park equipment maintenance ($2,210.22).

  • Funding critical local safety initiatives like the Project Lifesaver Program ($2,000.00).

  • Investing in local students via the David Turnham K Kids ($1,000.00) and Heritage Hills Beta Club ($1,750.00).

  • Assisting vital community groups like the Carter Fire Department, Heritage Hills Band, and Facebook.

Thank you for volunteering, attending, and supporting the festival. Your presence is the engine that drives this massive community investment!

Dale Trivia

The Legendary “Golden Aces”

The Dale High School Golden Aces remain a legendary piece of Spencer County sports lore. Competing in black and gold until the 1972 consolidation that formed Heritage Hills, the small-school powerhouse routinely punched above its weight class in single-class Indiana basketball. The entire community packed the gym on Friday nights to watch the Aces battle fierce local rivals, celebrating historic Sectional championships in 1943 and 1955. Though the uniforms were retired decades ago, the proud spirit of the Golden Aces lives on through local alumni and historians.
